"Thanks for the inspiration Kelly". She entered a Canadian Idol qualifier competition singing "Do you know the muffin man". That's when we realized U of Milo needed to provide a venue to showcase talents such as hers.
Starting sometime in Summer 2004 the University of Milo will be conducting our own world wide talent competition.
We are looking for singers, dancers, comedians, instrumentalists or any other talent you may have that is worthy of the title. There is no age restrictions. Keep in mind it must be family rated, or we don't want it. Also your chances will likely be a lot better if you are amusing & creative like Kelly singing "Do you know the muffin man".
Every month we will choose a monthly winner, based on votes from your fans on the internet and our panel of judges ( Once the competition begins, we will instruct you on how you can vote ).
At the End of the year we will choose an annual winner.
Here's how the contest works.
It is Free to enter, you may enter once each month per talent category. So if you sing and dance you can enter one demo of singing & one of dancing each month. All demos sent to us will not be returned, so please make copies of them if you want to keep them. If you are sending an "Audio only" demo we recommend you also send a photograph for us to post on the thumbnail of your demo on our page.
Submit your demos to idol@uofmilo.com or mail them to Milo Idol c/o The University of Milo Academy of Pictures & Tunes, Milo, Alberta, Canada T0L 1L0 or fill out our online or printable application forms below.
On our Academy of Pictures & Tunes Page we will display all worthy entries as well as our monthly winners. You can go there and play the clips, or you can vote for who you think should win.
Prizes, Yes there will be prizes and lots of them.
To Start with, THE FAME of being a U of Milo Celebrity.
All monthly winners will get a "Monthly Winner Milo Idol T-Shirt" + a $25 U of Milo cool stuff gift certificate.
All monthly winners will also be included on the "Milo Idol" greatest Hits CD that we will publish at the end of the year, and of course you will get a dozen free copies of the CD. * Note, we will also pay a royalty based on CD sales, so who knows, it could even be your big break.
And More, just watch as the sponsors come on board & the prize list grows.
Our Annual winner will get a $250 U of Milo gift certificate, a full scholarship to U of Milo the program of your choice an invitation to be on our Pictures & tunes Advisory Board, the cover of our CD and much more. Maybe even an all expenses paid trip to Milo.

U of Milo is Challenging you to put your artistic talents to work.
We are in the process of coming up with Logos for a whole bunch of new teams for our Fantasy Sports Leagues.
We already have the Logos done for the Hockey & Baseball teams. The Pie-Rats & the Highballs.
We are looking for new ideas & designs for the following teams:
Basketball, Basket Weaving, Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Rowing, Equestrian, Sailing, Fencing (Wire & Posts) , Boxing, Wrestling, Swimming, Diving, Track, Triathalon (Fishing, Bowling & Beer Drinking), Skiing, Suitcase Tobboganing, Snowboarding, Gymnastics, Skateboarding, Tiddley Winks, Rodeo, Figure Skating, Mtn. Climbing (The U of M Cliffhangers) and Bowling.
If we choose your ideas/logos we will do a feature on you in The Bullsheet as well as send you a Free Team Jersey custom crested with your choice of name and number on the back.
Feel free to enter as many times as you want for as many teams as you like.
All designs must be family rated.
